DPAGENT.EXE error on HP Win7 startup screen

Specs: Windows Vista
Hi, when switching on laptop I get DPAgent.exe error after windows logo ,then a black screen with mouse indicator showing :This on a HP Pavillion DV6, ,any sugestions on how to disable the file or go around it? Does this mean the memory could be affected? ie lost files etc

DPAgent.exe - that's most likely the DigitalPersona biometric fingerprint recognition software pre-installed by HP.

See if you can get Windows to start in Safe Mode, then disable that item from your startup list. Easiest way to see all your startup items in one list and be able to enable or disable them (or even remove one if you're sure it's not required) is with Ccleaner from here: http://www.filehippo.com/download_c...

When it's tagged as disabled, restart Windows.

thanks for your reply however even in safe mode it is also a black screen ,any other advise?
