Specs: Imac & HP + a IPad, i76gb
Is doing a recovery on a HP laptop , setting it back 4 weeks earlier, negate all those Window updates recently installed too?

✔ Best Answer
Is this laptop Windows 7?

Windows System Restore will take you back to 4 weeks earlier (or whatever you specify) and you will have to re-install any programs or Windows updates you have added since. It will retain your own stuff, documents, pictures, music etc.

HP System Recovery will remove everything, including your own stuff so you need to back first:

Depending on what you are doing this for, Windows System Restore would be the best first option.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

You have not indicated that you are even asking about a Windows System Restore. Is that what you mean? In Windows 7 go to Control Panel> Recovery and read about the various methods available and what files would be affected.

I read it as probable system restore also, just probably a lack of proper terminology. Good to be sure though.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
