You're welcome.

If you followed the link in #7 and still have bearshare issues with IE then try MalwareBytes free version from here:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/product...

It is very good and finding and fixing things other software can miss. It doesn't run all the time, only when you ask it to scan. If you decide to keep it then update it every week or two.

In the meantime you will find you can make Firefox look almost identical to IE. In fact two browsers can be quite handy. You can be following a search then break off and look at something else, knowing that your search on the other browser is still as you left it. No adverts on Firefox if you get the Adblock Plus add-on.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Run HijackThis or any decent anti-virus/anti-malware program - presumably you have some protection running on your PC now?. If this problem has happened recently perform a System Restore to a date before bear share hijacked your Home Page.

Twice I have posted a link to a solution to this problem, and both posts have been deleted. (I thought first time I had done something wrong, but not twice!) Sorry, I can't help you further as I'm not going to post again just to get it deleted again.

Frankly I think it is pretty rude to just delete posts without any explanation. I thought there might be a problem with the site I was linking to, but McAfee says it is fine. I sometimes wonder why I bother to post at all on these forums if this is what happens.

Perhaps you should take it up with Justin Weber (the webmaster) or one of the mods.

meldem, the link ijack posted will tell you how to set your homepage in IE. If you use Firefox for your browser, click the 'getting started' box at top left. There you'll find detailed instructions
jack, maybe you simply need to refresh? Leave the site and come back? I see your link..

I really can't see anywhere on here that you have offended anyone, so please don't think so.

If you mean #4 (and my response #5), that was to do with some frustrations ijack had with this website - now dealt with elsewhere.

BearShare is not malware
you just need to restore your Homepage
And this depend on which web browser your using

IE (Internet Explorer): Click the wrench icon on upper right > Internet Options > General > Use Blank or write your favorite web address to be your homepage

Mozilla FireFox: Firefox at upper left > Options > Options > General > Home page: write your favorite web address to be your homepage

Google Chrome: Click the wrench icon on upper right > Settings > Appearance > [Tick] Show home page button > change : and write your favorite web address to be your homepage

If you want to restore your default search engine
IE (Internet Explorer): Click the wrench icon on upper right > Internet Options > General > Search > Settings > their you will find your way

Mozilla FireFox: Click on the arrow in the search rectangle > Manage Seach Engines... > Restore Defaults or do what ever you want

Google Chrome: Click the wrench icon on upper right > Settings > Search > choose or manage and do what ever you want

Please next time mention more info like your WebBrowser
