do i need every items listed in w7 msconfig

Specs: Windows 7
I have a Toshiba satellite laptop,and when looking at the Start up in Msconfig ,it seems there is an awful lot of programs that start when booting,do i really need all of these programs to start

Probably not. Uncheck the items that you are familiar with, like programs you don't need to run at start up and do a google for the ones you're unfamiliar with to see what they are associated with.

Absolutely not! You should be safe leaving Microsoft/Windows files and your Antivirus program running at start up and unchecking the rest. If you like you can leave some automatic updates active like Java and Adobe, but it is not really necessary. You can Google for information on what the 'short' name really means and whether you really need them if you like.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
