Display Settings Do Not Save

February 17, 2011 at 21:13:59
Specs: Windows 7
I have Windows 7 on my new Laptop. There have been no problems with it, until recently. My display settings, such as contrast, are not being saved properly. Every time I close my laptop, or the screen saver comes on, everything reverts back to the default. This would not be so bad if the default contrast wasn't off by a lot, making everything appear very, very bright and white. It's very annoying, and since I'm often leaving my laptop, and working in programs like Photoshop when I return, it's a major nuisance to have to keep editing the display again.

Do you try to adjust contrast settings through the display adapter software or through the laptop's function keys ? If through one, try the other method.

My laptop does not have keys for contrast, only brightness, so I am only able to change it through the Calibrate Color option which is found by going to Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Display
