Disable Windows 7 Getting Started screen

how do i remove getting started when opening up
my computer .

There should just be a box in the bottom left corner of the 'getting
started' window - untick it (so it isn't there) & the next time it
should not appear.

many thanks ;but? THERE IS NO BOX to tick bottom left corner
or any other place on the page /any other ideas;thanks waiting in

What kind of computer are you using? Is it store-bought like Sony, HP, Toshiba with windows 7 preinstalled, or is it a custom-built PC that you installed Windows 7 yourself?

As far as I know, There is no native Getting Started feature in Windows 7.

many thanks for the reply ,
my laptop is an ACER ASPIRE 5542 and this problem has
only recently started it is when i open my laptop getting started
program pops up i can clear it by deleting it on the bar but that is
only untill i open up again i am a complete novice with
computers // archie.

The getting started window is actually the 'welcome center'. If you want to disable it, run regedit and search for the 'welcome center' key and delete it. All fixed !
