Dell XPS 600 not starting

September 15, 2013 at 15:33:16
Specs: Windows 7 ultimate
My dell xps 600 is not starting up. It shows the monitor starting up, and then it acts like the monitor is not connected to anything and turns into standby mode. Meanwhile the dell xps 600 is still making noise and is turned on. I checked the inside and it looked good but one cable was unplugged and I couldn't find a plug for it. It was blue and white cable. And oops I didn't follow the rules of do not make a lengthy log. Sorry but I need some help

It's not unusual for one or more cables to not be connected to anything. They are there to allow for upgrading like adding another hard drive. If this is the first time you've looked inside the case since the problem started, it's very unlikely that the cable would have unplugged itself.

Try starting in Safe Mode to ascertain if it's a hardware or software/driver problem

If Safe Mode runs okay, that generally points to a third-party driver causing the problem, which would also include third-party firewalls, antivirus software and CD/DVD burning software as well as normal hardware drivers. So try and remember what you've recently installed and try removing it in safe mode.

If Safe Mode does not start either, that usually points to hardware failure.
