Solved Dell studio 1537 monitor problem

October 13, 2014 at 04:27:24
Specs: Windows 7
Monitor has a pink line all the time at bottom 1/4 of the monitor. Mouse freezes for a second within that area all the time (on and off). any idea please. I already ordered a new monitor for replacement but wanted to confirm that the problem is actually from it.

Many thanks

Plug in an external monitor & test.

If the mouse freezes in that area, then I doubt it's the monitor. Try updating your graphics drivers.

Thanks Johnw. Yes I did twice: connected the laptop both to LED TV and to a computer monitor. picture is perfectly fine.

Thanks THX 1138, I updated the driver but to no avail. The pink line is horizontal occupying the bottom quarter of the monitor. I suspect that this has happened because, daily while to and from work, I leave the computer on (on stand by mode) put in my brief case, moving it while walking and drop in the car...etc. Just guessing.

Err...same meat different gravy:
Did you try the monitor on another computer and if so does it display the same symptoms?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
