just to clarify:

You have a tp-link router (which allows/acts as a wifi access point).

You can connect your Dell to it with an ethernet/cat-5 cable OK - but not via wifi?

You can connect to the router from your iPad and iPhone via wifi?

Did you not have to provide the iPad and iPhone with a password to connect to your tp-link via wifi?

Is wifi enabled on your Dell?

What model is your Dell laptop

What is the exact model of your tp-link router?

Do you know the SSID for your tp-link; that's its actual id/name when broadcasting and viewed in the list of wifi access point available?

Do you know the access key (aka encryption key) to connect to your tp-link (it's only required for wifi)?
