Solved Deleting Thunderbird inbox email take longer than 30 second

May 2, 2015 at 09:21:16
Specs: o
on my inbox email, it takes 30-35 seconds to delete it, while up to about 3 weeks ago when you hit "delete", it was deleted in a flash. I hahave the latest version of Thunderbird, and all else works perfect. Now with this problem and 100+ emails a day, it is taking almost an hour to just delete my "inbox" email, as most is either political or junk. Would be of great help if someone can resolve my problem, as i love Thunderbird.
Thank You in advance...

My email is, presview@ne.rr.com

Try compacting the Inbox.

Right click on it > Compact.

Hi Johnw,
I emptied my trash folder of all, and it may be too early, but on deleting my emails on the first 6, they all delete in a flash. At this point, I have to give you the top award for solving my headache, and want to thank you for a job well done, as till I go through the rest of my emails, I feel you have hit the jackpot !!!!!!!!
Thanks a very lot for your help Johnw, Presview7.

PLEASE go back to your original post and edit out your email address or you will get even more spam.

Consider answering many of your junk mails with the subject line changed to: "Remove from List". This will not effect those who are set on sending annoying emails, but will eliminate many of the honest ads that you really do not want and should make your emails easier to manage. Then you can also look into whether your ISP has email filters that you can log into and set to remove much of the spam and other junk mail. You may have to occasionally need to log in once in a while to clean out these other folders (spam and infected folders) to make sure that some legit items do not end up in a spam folder (at least for a while), or let them just delete them from age after a while.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
