Delete User fails to save (copy) files

November 30, 2010 at 06:10:02
Specs: Windows 7
Windows 7. Delete a user account; option to 'make a copy of files' selected, and confirmation message in next window. Proceed - disaster the files are nowhere to be found. I suspect the reason is that the files in the directory structure had actually been created whilst working as another user, so Windows has checked for file ownership of user being deleted, but ignored files within the directory structure. Any suggestions as to where the files may be, or is it back to 'deleted file recovery'?

I think it says something like keep the files or delete them. Open cmd as admin user and use command prompt to view under users.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

Yep, it said keep or delete files - I chose keep (it says it will copy into a sub-directory of current user); sub-directory created, but no files. Thanks.
