Date vs. Creation date

Specs: Windows 7
In Windows 7, there is a wider selection of date attributes, and one of them contains an original set of the creation date, unlike just the "creation date" which is changed i.e when you copy a file.

This field is just listed as "Date" in Win7.

Now what I want to know is... How do I synchronize those two date fields? I have a hellstorm of old recovered files that I got back long ago, and their creation date got overwritten in the process.
There's a lot of date changer tools, but I haven't seen one which can process the "Date" timefield, that appears in Win7.
It would be neat to be able to synchronize the regular date attributes with this one.

Check this image for an example of what I mean:

I am not at a W7 but from that it seems to say date is today's date. Robocopy and the replacement for it may be used to copy off files base on a more advanced search.

Hang up and live.
