I can no longer burn AVI files to DVD. When i bought my computer about six months ago i could, but now everything i have tried has failed. I am running windows 7. tried various software packages, brands of disk etc.. but the result is allways the same, the progress bar gets to about 99% and the sysyem then stays like that . I even have to resort to powering off at the main socket , to enable me to retrieve disk...please help...

try running a system restore to the ariest date you have, or do a factory restore after saving all files and data, it may just be a damaged file...once a factory restore has completed if you still have the same issue then you can start thinking about hardware issues...although if you can write 99% i cant see it been hardware, have you tried the disks @ 99%? do they work?

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
