cursor of my laptop will not move

Specs: Windows 7
I have been using my laptop since morning all of a sudden it is frozen the cursor is stucked in the middle and it will not move again, I shut down, restart and it is still the same

Is it a wireless mouse?

Have you tried another mouse?

try tapping f8 on bootup to see if you can access safe mode. If you can, try a system restore back to before the problem, it could be a bad critical update. Also answer Response #1 so we know it's not a mouse problem.

Sorry folks, I discovered the cursor was locked, there was actually a key that can lock the cursor which I was not aware of. Thanks all the same as I was able to figure it out.
