If I manually create a system restore point, it shows up in System Restore, and I can restore the computer to that point. If I schedule the creation of a restore point with System Scheduler, on reboot System Restore seems to kick in, and in the Scheduler log I seen that the operation completed successfully, but the restore point does not show up in System Restore. Please advise
I started to track my setup against the Guide. As soon as I hit System Restore under the Microsoft/Windows library, I get the window matching the Guide's, but instead of "Queued," under "Status," mine says "ready." . In addition, I just noticed that, after a Windows Update run, a new Restore Point appeared. But scheduled Restore points still do not. Make any sense?
tnx
Warren
Windows automatically create a restore point whenever there is a program or update install and once a week if there are no installs. I have made restore points manually, but I never felt the need to schedule any more often than Windows does already. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
For some reason, perhaps the one you indicated, I have gotten two automatic restore points since my last message. Many thanks
