Forget it. System restore backup only core Windows files essential to the operating system. It does not backup everything including whatever you have installed.

Best to use an imaging program to create an image/backup of your partition/s.

Unfortunately I can't recommend a program at this time. I was recommending Acronis True Image but have read from posters here that Acronis interferes with the use of flash drives when installed. I can't verify that at this time but have to put it out there. I use an older version of Ghost. I have heard that the latest versions are not good.

I just now found something that may clear up the flash drive issue. Look at the link. Acronis true image has the best features and ease of use.

This patch may be included in all product now on the market, I don't know.

Did you partition your hard drive and install Windows by itself on the C partition?

You need Macrium Reflect. It's free. I don't remember the URL but Google will find it for you. It's an excellent programme and dead easy to use.
