Windows 7
Internet Explorer 9I would like to be able to create folders in "All Programs" section of "Start" so I can group similar programs together. An example would be to group all game programs into one folder instead of having them interspersed through the list alphabeticallly. Is it possible to create new empty folders? Thanks.
Go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs You'll find what you're looking for there.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a folder labeled ProgramData.
Here are the paths:
http://indiawebsearch.com/content/w...You will probably have to go to Folder Options (View) and temporarily set to show hidden folders in order to find this path. Once found you can always create a shortcut to it.
Be aware that if you set up you own folder structure, when you uninstall programs it will probably leave the entries behind that you moved. No big deal (I do this myself) but just so that you know.....
Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
Hi all
I got this answer from pcatrocity at Techguy.org. It works great! To create folder in “Start”
1- Left click Start button
2- Right click All Programs box
3- Click Open All Users
4- Double click Programs
5- Click on New Folder and name it
6- drag & drop programs into folders
Thx for feedback. Many ways to crack a nut it seems LOL. Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
