cpu wont turn on.. monitor works

Specs: Windows 7, phenom II x 4
sorry i'm kind of new here.. so i will answer everything to the best of my ability... my cpu turned off and wont turn on.. the monitor works.. ive made sure everything was plugged in, changed outlets, swapped power supply, swapped keyboards.. etc.. its happened a few times... the 1st time i made sure everything was plugged in.. it worked.. but went down the next day... then i tried changing outlets... it worked.. then went down the next day... now its not turning on at all... i'm thinking something is loose.. but i really dunno what... thanks for your help in advance

oh.. sorry.. also meant to say it is a desktop.. and when i press the on button nothing happens.. no fans, no lights.. nothing at all. memory is 8 gb, hard drive 1 tb...

Could be the power-supply, or possibly something as simple as the power-switch itself. It may help if you can give us the brand/model of the machine as well.

Hey, did you figure out what the problem was I am having the same issue with the same model. I have checked the power supply and it checks ok. I don't know how to check the power switch. It has 4 wires coming from it.
