Aspire / T671-tb7z
September 16, 2011 at 08:00:30
Specs: Windows 7, 2GB
My CPU fan has suddenly gone on to full speed (while using the computer) and has remained so in use and at start-up.
Can anyone help me to cure the problem.

Thankyou in anticipation

Sounds like a hardware problem, not a Win7 problem. Did you check the CPU temperature in the BIOS to see if it's running hot?

Thankyou riider. I didn't check the CPU temperature. For one thing I don't know how to and would the fan go straight to full speed at start-up.? Any suggestions welcome.

Not at all experienced with BIOS. What about these downloads like SpeedFan. Would that be easier to use or is that the wrong way to go ?

Thanks

its mainly due to increase in the temp. of the cpu due to high work load that is due to more processes at the or may be due to any hardware problem in your system...

you may consult any Tech Expert for the solution of your problem.

You can use SIW to see your temperatures if you're not going to use the BIOS.

Thanks all. Tried a replacement fan and all was ok. It would seem that my type of fan can fail safe, ie go to full speed. If this is so, what a brilliant design (the four pin connector type
