Could not find Boot Device error booting PC

Specs: Windows 7 Home premium
my Toshiba satellite L500D could not find any boot device when i powered it on but after offing it and turning it on the CD drive and the Hard drive appeared and it vanished again when i restarted. As a result i cannot even boot from the CD or HD. I have replaced with different drives but still same problem. Can anyone help me out?

it maybe a loose connection somewhere on the motherboard..or your bios may need to be reset.
eitherway if you are not comfortable in taking the machine apart you should contact toshiba and rma the machine, Toshiba are usually very good about fixing things, hope its still under warranty..
if necessary you will have to open up the mahine and check that all connection are firm, and that the machine is clogged with dust and dirt..

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

Thanks a lot. problem has been fixed. i formatted the drive using partition magic from a win xp diamond cd and have currently installed the win 7 64bit and no more problems. thanks bro!
