Laptop connects to Net by Wireless Modem.
When trying setup Fax program as spec'd by Windows, <"Setup Wizard">
- doesn't detect Wirelss Modem,
- doesn't respond to ident'n of standard 56mps modem from offered list
- won't allow entering of Port for conn. I wdn't know what port to enter anyway.
Router maker ref me to server (Optus) - server ref me to Windows - Windows ref me to Lenovo.
Is there any kind person out there who can help?

You cannot send or receive faxes through a DSL broadband modem or modem/router.

You need one of the old technology "dial up" modems connected to a standard phone socket, like we used to have when everyone had to dial a number to get on the internet.

That's why Windows is not allowing you to set up your fax software. You've got hardware that's not fax-compatible.

Many thanks, Phil22, for yr advice.
Isn't it strange that Lenovo would supply a Fax program bundled with hardware that won;t support it? And doesnt inform users !
I suppose that's life in the eWorld, just as well there are people like Phil & forums like this.
