There is nothing to do except to make sure that it is otherwise compatible with windows 7. Windows 64bit will run any 32bit windows 7 compatible program and most Vista compatible 32bit programs. It is not as clear when it comes to Windows XP compatible programs though, if they are true 32bit (including their installer), you may be able to run them also under Windows XP compatibility.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.

Not all 32 bit programs will work. Consider using compatibility mode for the installer and also the program. It may be that the program is a 16 bit installer.

If only we knew what program you need.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

Programs are strange things.

To give an example:

I have a program named PhotoSuite that came with a Sony digital camera that was bought in year 2000. This is a 32-bit program. I installed it on two Win 7 Home Premium x64 machines and it is running perfectly.

I also have a Vista Home Premium x86 machine. This program cannot be installed on this machine because the machine thinks that the program is not 32-bit software.

What this boils down to is, you have to try to install the program normally. If it installs, fine. If it does not, you may try compatibility modes.

Most 32-bit programs run fine on Win 7 x64.
