Specs: Windows 7
my computer keeps starting up by it self then shutting down.

anyone know why its starting up and shutting down?.

It shuts down right before I can enter the bios.

I have a new psu and cmos battery, i also cleared the cmos.

how do i fix my pc so i can enter the bios?, i read on a different forum that it is the setting Wake On Lan, thats why i want to enter the bios.

could it be a bad floppy drive?

And what on your LAN is sending wake packets?

My guess is the power button has a short.

Thanks for the info

I have been trying to fix it for a while now,i dont know what a short is.

I found out my computer is turning on because of a motherboard wire called "power sw" ,when that wire is not connected my computer it stays off and doesnt turn on.When the power sw cable is plugged in, my computer turns on by it self.

how do i fix the pwer sw cable problem?.
