computer comes on ,fan doesn't work,monitor says no signal

Specs: Windows 7
monitor blue light turns to yellow. when you unplug monitor cord the light turns back to blue and monitor says cable disconnected.

So it's a hardware problem in the computer, not in the monitor.

What fan doesn't work? The fan on the power supply? The fan
on the video board? The fan on the CPU? Some other fan?

Did you notice that the fan wasn't working at the same time the
monitor stopped getting a signal?

If this is heat-related, maybe caused by the nonworking fan, you
shouldn't be surprised to find that it is intermittant. It could come
and go.

Aside from the fan not working and the monitor not getting a
signal, does the computer sound like it starts up normally?
That is, the power light comes on normally, it goes through the
power-on self-tests, maybe checks the CD drive to see if it
contains a disk, then loads Windows and makes the usual
Windows startup sound?
