So it beeps for 5 minutes and goes on and boots into windows or you shut if off after 5 minutes, restart and it boots normally?

Is it normal for error beeps to continue beeping, or do they
do their thing once and then stop?

I have a somewhat similar problem on my computer: The
video often doesn't come on until a video reset is sent at
the start of the BIOS network detection. Sometimes it
doesn't come on then, either. My monitor apparently gets
a weak signal from the video board, not strong enough to
hold onto for the first few minutes. But after two or three
minutes, the video comes on and it works fine after that.
No error beeps, though.

The beep code needs to be checked on one of the charts above or this one:
http://www.5starsupport.com/info/be...
Depending on your BIOS supplier, it can mean different things. Once you read the code, if it is not clear to you which way to go with it, post back that info and your detailed system specs and we should be able to help further.

Jeff: Did you check that your BIOS is set correctly for your primary video (Onboard, PCIe, PCIe if present, etc.)? If this does not solve your issue, start your own post with all related details.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Model number of computer would be useful.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I mentioned my own problem here only because of a possible
common cause. In both cases, the problem goes away after a
short time, or sometimes after rebooting.

Beeping for 5 minutes doesn't sound like it is a beep code at all.
The OP needs to tell us if it *is* a beep code or not.
