Computer automatically scrolling and zooming

July 20, 2012 at 01:37:19
Specs: Windows 7
Recently my computer has been zooming and scolling by itself. It happens on webpages, in game, and on the desktop itself.
At first I thought it was just a faulty keyboard and mouse but it's now happening again with different keyboard and mouse.
I have a 64 bit Win7 desktop.

Are you using wireless keyboard & mouse?

Maybe you didn't know (or forgot) that the mouse wheel can zoom
or scroll, and you are occasionally bumping the wheel by accident?

Hi jezz,

I am Makarand P from the Dell Social Media and Communities team.

With regards to your issue, i feel the sticky keys could be enabled under ease of access control under the control panel. Uncheck the option and restart your computer, it should work fine. Alternatively check for the mouse settings and check the sensitivity settings. Also try running a spyware check on the computer.

Kindly revert for further clarifications,

Thanks and regards,

I've tried changing the sticky keys but they're not checked.
I've also done scans of my computer and there is nothing.
This happens even when i am not touching the computer

Is there software installed for the mouse? Does this happen if you boot up in safe mode?

Not sure, it's not a fancy mouse. And I haven't tried that.
It hasn't zoomed/scrolled randomly for a awhile. But I expect it'll come back again.
