Unlikely that is causing it.

Any number of things can cause the issue. To be sure you'd have to run some diags like performance monitor to be sure. It is not easy to find either. See taskman (task manager) to start.

I tend to suggest a restore point or a clean reload but other helpers hate that. It always works though and a task you almost need to know.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

i agree with Jefro, run a system restore to a date/point before your issue started.
if that fails type in performance in the run box choose perf monitor, check what is slowing your machine,
press ctrl-alt-del and open task manager, go to process, and click on the cpu coloun, see what is taking up cpu %'s

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

The above assumes you have not installed a program or device to run in a Windows compatibility mode.

Did you install any older hardware/software that needs to run in compatibility mode?

Did this slowness happen all of a sudden?

Did you install any hardware or software just prior to this problem occurring?
