compaq win 7 restore disc for cq 5210 yc

Specs: Windows 7, 36b
HELP!!1st of all, I have no computer exp. @ all. my compac cq 5210yc (sys. was running win. 7)started going to a blue screen. I took the tower to a guy around the corner from me that repairs computer out of his home. When I picked up tower he had installed some version of win. xp professional. nothing is the same. no word processor, factory installed games or anything. do I need to purchase the restore disc???

HP/compaq supply a recovery partition which can be accessed by repeatedly pressing F10 at startup. so providing the idiot didnt totally format your drive you should be able to restore your machine to the day you bought it.

i hate computers!

If the recovery partition is missing or messed up, contact support from the manufacturer and they will sell you at a reasonable price a set of recovery disks to return your system to it's new condition. If you have any files remaining, back them up before trying a factory restore or you will loose them.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
