Specs: Windows 7, Intel Core 2 Duo E2220 / 3GB RAM
Just bought a new card for my pc, but having issues with getting O/S to load. I see the boot screen, then there is just a cursor on a black screen so I can see the card is working.

If I remove the card (yes, I always unplug the pc first), and go back to the on-board everything works fine. O/S loads and all that.

BIOS settings have been changed to PCI-E, and still nothing. There is no extra power connections on this card, and the psu is brand new and 500w.

Any thoughts??

If the on board and the add in card use different drivers you may need to remove the on board drivers before shutting down.

Are you using the DVI or the VGA port?

Are you sure you are fully inserting the card. Check the locking tang.

It's certainly locked in. I'll have to look at those drivers. Using the VGA port currently, but can try the DVI. Just need to get the cable.

As an extra followup, here's the website info for both:

Video Card: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Produc...

PC: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...

Both states PCI-E as x16
