Specs: Windows 7, 1.5 GB
The model no is SR1230IL (Date: 2004)

We recently replaced the OS with Windows 7 and increased RAM from 256 MB to 1.5 GB and are very satisfied because it is user-friendly and fast enough for our uses.

However, for any image related functions - pictures, viewing attachments with images, photos uploading, even playing Solitaire - we see the following messages
"Hard ware acceleration is not supported by your video card driver"
"Make sure you have the latest video card driver installed and that hardware acceleration is turned on."
"Upgrade your display adapter. Your video card doesn't support the required version of Direct X
(Direct X 9.0 or more)"

Your model does not appear to be listed on HP support site. I found the one listed below though.
Compaq Presario SR1230UK Desktop PC

Looking at the one above, HP does not appear to support Windows 7 drivers for this family off PC.

This means that if Windows 7 does not natively support your video graphics (which I believe is integrated on board video) then you are on your own if you want to use Windows 7.

One option you may have is if there is an AGP port on the motherboard.
If there is one then you may be able to add a Windows 7 compliant AGP graphics card and disable the on board video. You will have to check if your system is able to do that.

When everything else fails, read the instructions.
