Compaq laptop Window 7 Will Not Turn On

September 25, 2010 at 00:46:32
Specs: Windows 7
I had no idea that Logitech software for computer camera installation was incompatible to my Win7 laptop. It was too late to uninstall. By the morning my keyboard would not work. Then later on in the morning my COMPAQ LAPTOP WILL NOT TURN ON.

I took the hard drive out and to see if my other Dell laptop XP if maybe a virus. My XP laptop gave a message "...PXE..." I can't remember the rest of the error cold.

Please help... Is it the power cord, did my hard drive crash, is it Bios problem. What software do I need or is it a hardware problem

Your Compaq hard drive will not boot in the Dell, Hardware is too different. If you can boot from some other media you might be able to inspect the drive,

get a repair for win 7, put the HD back in the original lappie, boot with the repair cd, try a REPAIR, if that fails go for a system restore, if that fails, you need to use the hard drive as an extermal drive on another computer, copy all your files and then put the drive back in the compaq and run a factory reset, this will format the c; drive and reinstall the machine to the day you bought it. a hp/compaq recovery partition can be accessed by repeatedly pressing F10 at startup.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
