cmd style window popping up during every day

Microsoft Windows 7 home premium 32-bit
March 8, 2010 at 10:49:16
Specs: Win 7, 2gb ram 54% in use
Right basically, I was helping remove some malware from a friends
computer, malware bytes was carried out successfully removing a virus that
was trying to enforce the purchase of some anti-virus software that was
popping up however there is now another problem:

This problem was already there before the malware removal process
however i've been googling and binging for hours with no avail.

Basically, during normal use, even with not memory needy programs open
the computer pops up with a command prompt style window that says
Program is too big to fit in memory or something along those lines, I almost
managed to get a print screen but it was fading.

I really need to fix this if anyone could help that would be fantastic :D

Does this only happen once like at bootup or keeps happening? When the window opens pay attention to the title bar. Please tell us what it says.

You may still have an infection. Use task manager (or MS process explorer - download a copy for MS) to see what is running. Shut down anything not needed (or better, restart in safe mode with networking) , temporarily shut down system restore (so nothing hides there) and rescan - also try another like supersantispyware - and see if it actually clean. Once clean, turn on system restore. If still having trouble look into virtual memory and see what your settings are. Allow system to select or set manually to 1 1/2 times RAM (in Mb ie: 1000 = 1Gb), and if you have hard disk space, up to 2 1/2 times RAM (usually not needed).
If you still have trouble, run Memtest to see if you have some bad memory segments.

This keeps happening, haven't had a chance to see the title
bar, it's too frequent. I'm sure it's not memory, the computer is
pretty much brand new and all applications open fine.

It is often the case that cmd prompts like this show when
installing something which would suggest that the computer is
trying to re-install an infection regularly and because of the
inability to do so is kicking off with the user.

it literaly flashes in and out, quite annoying.

it's a win 7, samsung, 3GB, 250gb, dual core intel processor

can't remember exact specs as i don't have the machine at
constant access as the person who i'm supposed to be fixing
it for is busy.

Well if it only happens on bootup then it is in your registry and we can help you to look at some things to see. If it keeps happening after the system is booted then it is a running application that we need to locate and delete.

Please go to your Command Prompt by typing "CMD" in the search box on the Start Menu.

Then type...

tasklist > listoftasks.txt

this will make a file with a list of running tasks on your computer. It will be stored in your Documents folder. Open it and copy the contents into a reply.
