clean install

Specs: Windows 7
clean install and wanted to download the original Microsoft OEM office that came preloaded. I downloaded it from Microsoft but when using the product key from Sony, invalid. Microsoft say call Sony and Sony says go back to Vista. Basically, the OEM version is invalid now. any ideas?

Sony would have some method to return your system to the state you purchased it in.

Either you had to make disks or they gave you disks or you have to buy disk or there is a special partition on your drive to return it with It would be clearly written in the owners manual.

It will be annoying, but going back to original state (vista with Office) clean, then doing the windows 7 install as an upgrade this time, should allow you to keep the MS Office that came with the computer. (it worked that way on my daughter's HP laptop as an upgrade install).
