Specs: Windows 7
Trying to do clean install. At the point of selecting a partition the hard drive shows blank.I can't get beyond this point. Could it be a bad hard drive?

During the early part of the install, select Custom and then Format options. You want to delete any partitions that are present and create a new partition. Use the entire drive or what ever portion you want for your C drive, other partitions you will make later from Disk Manager within Windows. Then format it to NTFS and proceed to install to that partition.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

If your install device is via USB, plug it into a rear/different port.

What's the history on this 'old hard drive'? Is it out of another system? Did it have previous problems? As asked above, is it showing correctly in bios setup?

Don't forget to preorder your Hatch green chili for this fall. Many vendors ship world-wide. Better hurry. They're picking and shipping now.
