I think Windows 7 Ultimate only has language update packs. If yours is Win 7 Ultimate, go to Windows update and download any language packs you like, English, German, French, Spanish, Turkish, etc. There are about 31 packs available.

There MIGHT be a way also for Pro, but not for home editions without I believe reinstalling. Check Windows 7 site on MS for Q&A as there might be an 'anytime-upgrade', unless that is a USA option only (their rules for non-USA editions might be different depending on the laws in Japan). A new Home edition might be less than an upgrade to Ultimate, but check out the difference.

✔ Best Answer
If you have Home Premium, you cannot use the language pack. However, you can remove/reinstall the English version & use your existing key to activate that installation.

"hmmm is there a downloadable program that will change the language to english?"

A Windows Home Premium installation disc will do that. If you don't have one, you can borrow one & use your key.
