change sata mode to RAID autodetect /AHCI.

Specs: Windows 7 Home premium, dell 755, 2GB
I have an Optiplex 755 OS win 7 running on RAID autodetect /ATA. I wish to use the esata port so I need to change the mode to RAID autodetect /AHCI.
I have found 3 different solutions none of which is clear and I am unsure whether I should keep on installing Drivers in the hope that I might hit the correct version. I attach the links that I have found.

Many thanks for the quick response. I have used the fix but before changing Bios I wanted advice as to what to do if I get a blue screen, a warning about this comes up in Bios when a different sata mode is chosen. If the fix fails and I do get a blue screen do I just power off and then return Bios sata mode to ATA or am I in a more serious mess ?
