My wife related this to me, so at best here is my interpretation.

From Google Mail she attempted to send a sequence of emails, each containing an attached jpeg, which I suspect was quite large. Unsuccessful, she turned to Windows Live to send these emails. Not only was she unsuccessful, but also Windows Live continues to try to send the emails, and she cannot find a way to stop it. Nor can she find the original emails to delete them. Apparently, they are in queue somewhere and cannot be found in the Sent or Draft folders.
How does one stop Windows Live from attempting to send emails?
Thanks.

I'll answer my own question. There is a folder named 'Outbox,' in which emails are queued for sending. Open the Outbox folder and delete the toublesome emails.
