Can't send email in Craigslist using link

January 23, 2012 at 11:40:46
Specs: Windows 7 starter, 256
I have two Asus EEE netbook computers, one for me one for the wife. They have Windows starter 7 on them. We use gmail with chrome. My computer works fine, I can send emails in CL or other places just by clicking on the link and it open a gmail page to send an email. I have tried everything I know on hers but can not get it to work. It just sits there, no message or anything.

Right click on link then paste it directly.

Might be infected. Do both of them have a good security suite on them?

Could you be a little clearer - do you mean right click - copy email address out of CL compose email and paste address?

Both computers have AVAST free installed, never had an issue on mine, hers is brand new.

Could it be that this new computer needs to have some default mail program associated with that link?

Gmail is not a normal mail that one would get to by a common link. You'd have to install or adjust some setting to get that.

"We use gmail with chrome" - YUCK!

You need to change the default email program:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/...

BTW, you may want to consider a different email program for CL use. 1st of all, it's not a good idea to use your primary email for such transactions. 2nd, many scammers & spammers use gmail addresses. Personally, I've blocked all incoming gmail so if you were to reply to one on my CL ads, I would never receive it. And I only use gmail to send email bombs, lol.

Gmail is not in the list for an option to pick - I looked on my computer and it is not in the list either but my computer works fine. What else?
