Can't see files on a DVR disk

February 10, 2011 at 10:49:44
Specs: Windows 7
I have saved files from a bad drive to my current hard drive. From computer, with new dvr disk, I select burn. It formats disk. I click on the drive and it says drag files here to save. I cannot see any files.

I want to make sure I have actually saved the files to a dvd before I delete them from my hard drive.

I do not understand a lot of computer terms. Any help will be certainly appreciated.

try copy and paste to see if the files are actually placed to be burned properly.

I am using windows 7. I click on computer, click on my c drive, see the folder I want to save, click on it. At the top of the page I see the term "Burn". I click on that, it formats the disc and I think it burns the file to the disk.

I have tried to drag other files to the disk and it says there is not enough room on the disk. Therefore, I am assuming that I have actually saved to files to the dvd disk. However, I cannot see any files on the dvd.

Am I burning the file to the dvd or not? At the bottom of the page, when I click on the dvd drive, there is an icon of a dvd disk and it says 0 items.

And thanks for your help

I assume you actually mean DVDR disk.

Look at the screen to find a message saying "burn files".

yes, I did mean dvd-r disc. I clicked on burn, eventually it gave me a screen that tells me to drag any files I wanted to copy to the disk. I finally figured how to drag the files over and it worked. thanks

I have saved data from two different bad hard drives. They both went bad about the same time. I think I saved most of the files.
