cant resize partion c

Specs: Windows XP
hello all,

a friend of mine has anew lg laptop consisting of partition c:250 and d:250

he asked me to help him resize c to 50 Gb

my hiren cd ver10.5 didnt load any of its programmes whether partition magic or acroin

somesaid that it didnt support sata drivers

is this true?and if it is how can i make it support sata dvd driver

is ther any utility cd or dvd which support sata

The Ultimate Boot CD itself should load on a SATA CD/DVD drive, but most of the programs will still not recognize a SATA hard drive.

If you're just after resizing partitions, though, the GPartEd LiveCD is probably a better option. As its a rather poorly optimized Debian LiveCD, it will take a while to boot.

In general, if you want to use software that only supports IDE drives and you have SATA drives, you can usually switch the controller mode to emulate IDE in the BIOS.

did you try the win 7 disk manager, right click computer/manage/disk manager/right click on c;/ and reduce size i see no reason why this will not work...

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

I think if you resize C to 50GB it will cause you more head-aches than you can imagine. If it runs good, why change it?

100 GB would be more realistic.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.
