Can't open some links from Internet Explorer 9.

September 28, 2012 at 09:30:40
Specs: Windows 7, AMD Phenom 9750 quadcore
links won't open, I get a blank page. I click on a link from my front page but it won't load. Even links on this page I'm on right now will not load. That's the way it is throughout the web. If I do get through to a page and I click a link from that page, it won't open. I would be grateful for any help that could be provided. Thanks, ab

Hi,

You can follow the below mentioned steps in order which could fix the issue:

Change the compatibility mode IE. To turn Compatibility View on, click the Compatibility View button to make the icon change from an outline to a solid color. This option will be seen on the address bar.

Turn off hardware acceleration by going to Internet options. You can even refer to the article on the URL mentioned: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/252...

Reinstall the Adobe flash player and latest JAVA.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling IE, Use the following FIXIT for uninstalling the same http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=978...
Then proceed with downloading an updated version of IE from the URL mentioned: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/...

Share your comments if it solved your problem.

Thanks & Regards

1- Tools (or cog)>Internet Options>Delete (under browsing history)>Select nearly everything, Delete>OK.
2- Reset IE9 to keep browsing history for only 2 or 3 days.
3- Reset IE9 to delete cookies when closing.
4- Check security settings, it should be medium-high by default.
5- Install, Update, and Run Malwarebytes, Remove all it finds.
6- Check Add-Ons and delete or disable any you did not deliberately install or OK.

If these do not get you running properly again, THEN you may want to try a Reset of Internet Explorer 9, but you might just have to back up your favorites first (not sure if they will be saved).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
