Can't load certain website page (

March 5, 2012 at 16:53:00
Specs: Windows 7
Okay, here's the thing. I access through a netbook. But recently, I got a desktop and it won't load in that desktop. It works fine in the netbook. The page that won't load is anything to do with logging in, so won't load, and anything to do with the doesn't work either.

I've cleared cache, restarted the router, cleared history, and when I went into cmd and typed in ping and the address, it said that it couldn't access it or what not. What's the problem with the desktop? I've tried different browsers, the answer is the same. Can someone PLEASE help me? I'm miserable over here, not to mention my younger sis wrecked the netbook screen.

First, go to the Control Panel >> Internet Options >> Advanced (tab) >>Reset button close to the bottom. Reset all user settings to. Close all instances of IE .

Go back to control panel >> Internet Options >> General (tab) >> Under Browsing History click Delete button . Delete all temporary files.

Open Internet Explorer. It will probably take you to IE's setup page. Go on to Your site and see if it opens now..

Let us know how it goes .... :)

Still nothing. If worst comes to worst I can always update my stories at my dad's, but this is beyond irritating.

Anyways, followed your instructions to the T. As I said before, nothing. The page never loads, it is always just processing the request, or what not. So I'm just sitting there waiting for something to never load.

It could be 2 things ... Try Internet Explorer without add-ons... This is available in your Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools folder.

What system security are you running? Sometimes your anti-virus program can cause problems like this or even a virus can. You would probably have to uninstall to know for sure if your AV is the problem. If that would be too difficult, have you tried another browser like Firefox or Google chrome and see if it works then.

I have Norton. It's my most preferable program, I actually use AVG, it's just that this desktop is new and I haven't had a chance to change my antivirus. I'm right now scanning, maybe I accidentally picked up something.

After Scan: I'm clean. Nothing there. :)

Oh, and I use Firefox, though Internet Explorer is the same. I also sometimes use Chrome, but I don't have that one installed right now. I have a feeling the answer would be the same. >.<

Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm having exactly the same problem - cannot get the page to load on my new Windows 7 machine, although it loads fine on my phone and loaded fine on my previous XP machine. It won't load in all three browsers I have installed - Firefox (my default), Chrome or IE.. It's not a router issue or I wouldn't be able to load it on my phone via the wireless connection, and nothing on my router has changed since I got my new machine a week ago.

I was blaming McAfee (which has been known to be a tit on occasion), but I'm wondering if it's a Windows 7 issue now, given that's all we seem to have in common.
