Ibm Visualage for java
April 22, 2010 at 15:16:49
Specs: Windows 7
I have never had Java on my new computer which is a Gateway intel core i3 with windows 7. I have downloaded almost ever version of java new and old that i can find and when i try to install it it just gives me an error (The installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package). Nothing i do seems to work. Any help would be great. Thanks

Did you use this version of Windows 7/XP/Vista/2000/2003/2008 Offline?

And in addition, die you read this How do I manually download and install Java for my Windows computer?

Maybe you have to rund the installation file as administrator.
So you might try rightclick the exe-file and run as administrator.

Not sure if it matters but i also have 2 IE. one called X64 and the other regular. both of them dont work but i seem to get further with the regular one. it will let me get to the java part where you can pick a diff destination folder if you would like and when i click install then the error comes back up.

For windows 7 with 64bit, you need to install two java and two acrobat readers, one of each for each 32bit IE8 and for 64bit IE8. As far as Firefox, you go to tools>add-ons and add it there, not as a download.
You will notice that 64bit internet explorer is generally faster, but most websites do not fully support it yet, especially imbedded video.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

I checked the firefox and it is in the add ons but it wont let me use it. it says the java script is good but the java is in red and it wont let me click on it to enable it. as for the other 2 downloads for IE and 64bit it wont let me download for either.
Also what will hitting f8 do? will it reset or get rid of any of my settings or information?
Thanks
