Can't install a particular software on Windows 7

May 17, 2017 at 07:43:51
Specs: Windows 7
I am trying to install "Audio4Fun - AV Voice Changer Software Diamond 7.0.29" on my computer. When I run it, "Wise Installation Wizard" starts, makes me go through accepting licenses and all the standard stuff. Once I choose the directly and start the setup, an error message pops up mid-way.

The file "C:\Users\myusername\Application Data\Avnex\VCS7\Vcs.xml" could not be opened. Please check that your disk is not full and that you have access to the destination directory. The system cannot find the path specified.

There's an "OK" button there. I hit it, and the installation wizard terminates itself immediately. Since the half-installation done isn't automatically rolled back, I have to go to control panel and remove the half-installation from there. I have tried installation with internet turned off as suggested on one of the other forums, but it didn't work. What can I do to successfully install the software?

Someone on this thread found the solution: https://www.computing.net/answers/w...

The only problem is, the solution is in a link, and the link is no longer accessible. I can't see the solution, and nor can anyone else. That is why, if anyone here has any solutions, please post them right here on this thread. Refrain from posting links as people might not be able to see them.

Also, if anyone knows any other real time voice changers for Windows 7, please let me know, that'll be helpful as well.

P.S.: Windows 7, 64-bit

Have you tried contacting the software publisher's support team?

Thanks for the reply. And no, not yet. Mainly because:
A. I've found multiple threads online regarding the same error message while installing different softwares. Sometimes the error message is about an XML file, sometimes about a DLL file. This points towards a fault towards the operating system rather than the software.

B. There isn't one other thread online regarding this error message coming up while installing this very software. Also another tip off.

C. I don't know how to contact them. I posted this while I was at the office, I still am. I need to get back home in order to look it up. If I do find a way to contact them, I definitely will.

Meanwhile, any other solutions?

"I am trying to install "Audio4Fun - AV Voice Changer Software Diamond 7.0.29" on my computer"
Try right clicking on the file & hit > Run as Administrator

You need a Full Duplex Sound Card.

If you click the Run on the pop up box it could be your problem. Use the Download button, download it to your system, copy the file from where it saves it and paste it on your desktop. Then double click on it there to install it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

It's always the best bet to download and Save the file rather than running installs online. You just double click the downloaded file as given above,

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Sometimes the installation process doesn't install or move files to the location they're expected to be. You may need to do a file search and then, if the file is found, manually copy it to the location.
