You need to have an ethernet controller installed or you can't access the internet. What pops up and what is the message?

If your computer is a laptop and supports both, wired and wireless connection, and you're now connected wirelessly to the router/modem for the internet, you don't need the wired connection at this time.
But if you get in trouble and have to configure your wireless router/modem from scratch, you will need the wired connection.

You can disable the wired network card as long, as it's not needed.
In that case, no icon will be shown in systray, and therefore no message will popup that states, that your wired network card is not connected.

You are expecting our help, we are expecting your response !!!

Thanks for reply. I kept getting a screen apparently looking for realtek drivers? whenever i went online but also started getting a blue screen crash so i took it in for repair. they said bad memory card, reloaded everything and all seemed to be fine 'til i got a message saying i was using a counterfeit windows 7 but i reregistered with the product code on the laptop and all seemed fine except now i'm getting the realtek screen when i first try to get online so it came with windows or all the updates it immediately downloaded when i reregistered. I do not have wifi, only a modem from a cable co. i hope this makes sense, a techie i'm obviously not. thx!
