Are you sure you don't mean either Windows Mail or (more likely) Windows Live Mail? Outlook Express is ancient and as far as I know will not run on Windows 7.

Do new emails send OK including pictures?

If it's Windows Live Mail are you logged in with your Windows Live ID as it seems that can be an issue?

As you readily determined I am not very computer literate. How about internet explorer? I try to send pics, click o the attachment icon, add the send to and nothing.

Open your Windows Live Mail program. Select "Email message" at the top and create your email. On the same page click "Insert" at the top, then the "Single Photo icon". From the list of pictures click the one you want to send, then "Open". The picture should arrive on the email screen ready for sending.

For multiple pictures you have to sign in to MS to use cloud computing. However, there is a way to do this using the Single Photo icon. Let's see how you get on with a single photo first.

Internet Explorer is your browser for getting onto the internet - nothing to do with email.

The same box appeared stating "The connection to the server has failed." Is something blocking the transmission?

The two messages are quite different - these:

"a previous attempt had not been completed"

"The connection to the server has failed"

The last one could be a server issue. Do you ever get either of these on an email you send without pictures and is your internet generally working OK?

Internet works fine. The only time the comments appear is when a picture forwarding is attempted.

From the main email screen that opens when you start WLM, click the icon at the top of the screen to the left of the Home tab. Select Options from the drop down, then Mail in the menu that pops out to the right. On the next screen click the Compose tab. Make sure that there is a check mark in "Convert messages to photos emails when adding photos".

Thanks for your help but I am not finding the area you are refering to "compose". I will just wait until one of the kids come down so we can have a personal conference. Thank you again.

Compose tab is at the top of the screen, one of about 8 tabs that should be showing.
