character limit to date in taskbar?

The "date" in the taskbar won't display full month or day - i.e., will display "Wed" but not "Wednesday"; "Aug" but not "August"??? Not a big thing, but it just bugs me. Tried everything I could find to adjust ... no joy. Any suggestions?

I just tried this and it it should do what you want.

From Control Panel, go to the Region and Language dialogue.
On the Formats sheet, click the Additional Settings button.
Go to the Date sheet.
In the Date formats section, your Long date probably shows "ddd".
Click in the textbox and manually edit it so it has four d's "dddd"
instead of just three.

Right under the textboxes is an explanation of what the notations
mean. "ddd" gives "Wed". "dddd" gives "Wednesday". Although it
doesn't say so, you can do the same with the month and year.
(Use "yy" for a short version of the year.)
You can also change the order of the various parts of the date.
