Can't delete User Profiles permanently in W7

November 11, 2010 at 07:41:24
Specs: Windows 7, Variable
When deleting user profiles on a highly trafficked laptop the issue is that the profiles keep manifesting themselves after they have been deleted and the recycling is emptied. This happens after it reboots. When they come back, they are just empty files that are cluttering up the User folder. The only thing I have thought of is to change Index settings or try to figure out what else is saving these empty folders. Any thoughts?

have you tried deleting the user folder empty files?
1. Press on Start > Run >Regedit
2. Navigate to the following registry key :
“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList”
3. Under ProfileList navigate to binary key’s like this :S-1-5-21-3656904587-1668747452-4095529-500
4. On the right side under ProfileImagePath you’’ll see the username and profile path.
5. Chose the one with the desired user and delete the long reg key like :“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList”
