Solved canon pixma mx870 only prints last line of document

Specs: Windows 7
why does it only print the last line of a document? i did all the cleaning of heads and have had zero success in printing a document from my asus laptop running windows 7. i updated a driver and was able to print documents but ten when i tried to print accompanying e-mail i could only print last line again

Not what you might want to hear but as it does it on two computers it sounds like a problem with the printer itself. Rather obscure symptoms though. Print heads can give trouble but I would have thought they would have shown on the test too.

no. the print tests work. i checked about driver downloads too. also watched a you-tube video about how ink dries out if you don't use the printer a lot.

All a bit weird. Have you by any chance another computer that you can install the printer to? If so it would tell us whether it is a software issue on your current computer or the printer hardware itself.

i used our HP initially but it has windows 10 and doesn't have Office so i was stuck with the laptop and windows 7. i tried printing from the HP with the unfortunate same result. i initially thought it had to do with being a wireless and that it was too close (a foot) and that was the problem. just grasping for anything. :)
