Cannot visit specific websites

Specs: Windows 7
I cannot access a few specific websites from my laptop, but other people can access them just fine including other computers on the same internet connection, and connected to the same router. I get an error saying the connection timed out in any browser, or when attempting to ping the website in command prompt either by URL or IP address. I've also tried all of this in safe mode - no joy, still doesn't work.

Tracert looks normal but always times out on the tenth hop. My hosts file hasn't changed at all and there is nothing strange there. Any idea what could have happened or how I can fix this? Please help. Thanks!

Check if the problem is seen with an alternate browser Like Firefox or Chrome. If No, follow the next steps.

Run a IE reset Fix it

Try uninstalling and reinstalling IE Use the following FIXIT for uninstalling the same then proceed with downloading an updated version of IE from the windows website:

If the above step fails try creating a New User Account to check if the problem persists.
